JOHNSON PRINTING EARNS FSC AND PACE ENVIRONMENTAL CERTIFICATIONS
BOULDER,
COLORADO April 2008
. . . . BOULDER, COLORADO . . . . Johnson Printing (JP) announced that, in support of its sustainable business practices initiative,
it has earned two important certifications. Kevin Wright, owner and president of JP, stated, “We have been running our business in an
environmentally responsible manner for decades. That said, continually looking for ways to further reduce waste, consumption and emissions
is good for the environment and good for business. It’s a daily activity that complements the lean manufacturing practices that we are
incorporating into all aspects of our operation. We strive to be leaders on a number of levels, and these certifications recognize us
as such in the sustainable business arena.”
JP plant manager Mike Olson is charged with coordinating all underlying requirements that ensure minimal environmental impact and
sustainability. Mr. Olson noted, “Together, these certifications address the cornerstones of our manufacturing operations. The FSC
chain-of-custody ensures that certified paper is strictly managed from the woodlot through to the end user of printed products, while
the PACE program focuses on virtually every aspect of our processes from a pollution prevention and waste minimization standpoint.”
